Some changes and improvements are planned for the Durban and Cape Town regions. The Cape Town region is barely alive but with the new energy and focus that the SAIMC has, we are taking pro-active steps in ensuring the longevity of that branch. So if you live in these areas keep your eyes and ears open on how the SAIMC will benefit you, our members.
In all our areas we have new chairmen running the branches. When I look at all the chairmen and their committees, I know that the SAIMC is in for some exciting times. There is so much energy currently, which if released all at once, would cause serious damage to your health. Jokes aside, with some focused attention and correct channelling the SAIMC is set to become a force within the I&C domain. Join and pay your subs so that you can benefit from the SAIMC!
Apart from our members that benefit, we are looking at how we are going to add value to our Patron members, and in turn how they will add value to the SAIMC. Most of the Patrons already add value by granting their staff time off work to attend meetings, sponsoring golf days, sponsoring the annual banquet etc. For those members that do not know whether the company you work for is a Patron member or not, here is a list:

For all the branches – please note that to unseat the Johannesburg branch as branch of the year you will have to start making your plans, engaging your members, keeping records etc. Good luck to all, and hopefully it will be such a close race that council has to apply the discretionary points to identify a winner.
