It is once again the time for the SAIMC Banquet. This function has become a highlight of the year for all working within the instrumentation industry. It is an opportunity to renew old acquaintances, make new contacts and catch up on the latest news.

We have tried many different formats for this event: from the glitzy, the motivational, the serious, to the funny ha ha. We have attempted them all, but it is apparent that the majority of our members and guests prefer the formal approach with a presentation that helps them to understand the intricacies of the environment we are living in.
This year, even before the keynote presentation was announced, many of the tables were reserved. This is heart-warming because it highlights the importance that is ascribed to this event. It indicates the trust of our sponsors that we will once again organise an event of note.
This October, the speaker is David Noko who is the managing director of De Beers Consolidated Mines. He will share with us an inside view of mining industry projects and investment opportunities. We are very privileged to have Noko as the guest speaker. His status within industry in South Africa allows him to have a unique insight into the more important aspects regarding our future.
As in the past, this black tie event is well worth attending. A sponsor's invitation to be there is regarded as a privilege that shows the respect they have for you. Please remember that we also cater for individual participants who wish to attend.
The banquet is to be held at the Rand Club in Johannesburg with its upper class ambience adding to the grandeur of this function. We used this facility last year, resulting in many appreciative comments.
If you have not yet made your reservation, you need to contact Claire urgently at 086 107 2462. The cost for a table seating 10 is R3500 or R350 per single seat. Space is limited and you should not delay.
