A smart mobile solution for hazardous environments

June 2015 Industrial Wireless

In today’s modern industry, the smart mobile worker is a hot topic. The ability to carry out work on the go with access to resources at the push of a button increases productivity and efficiency, but there still needs to be a personal connection and assurances that workers are safe; that’s where the Extronics Rough Pro comes in.

The Rough Pro range combines all the features expected in a modern smartphone or tablet with ATEX and IECEx certification. It also meets MIL-STD-810G and IP68 standards, making it a durable and reliable solution for workers in a variety of hazardous and harsh environments. The Rough Pro is powered by Android, using a quad core processor that makes it highly responsive. Amongst other advantages, an optional 8 MP camera enables images and videos to be captured, whilst the high resolution display is easily readable in a range of conditions. The Rough Pro also comes with several man down sensors as standard, such as the accelerometer, gyro, compass and GPS.
