New measurement technology for density in slurries

The new density analyser from Rhosonics is a breakthrough in technology aimed at traditional density systems based on a nuclear source and the red tape associated with administration and documentation of such systems. The Rhosonics system utilises hybrid technology, coupled to a spool-piece flow-through device for ease of installation. There is thus no intrusion in the line that can cause any blockages. The technology is unique in that it measures multiple parameters simultaneously, which can be applied to all types of liquids, suspensions, slurries and wet pastes.

The actual sensor unit is cast in a tough material resistant to extreme abrasive samples such as metal slurries. The density sensor can be fitted to a number of flow-through holders to suit almost any process application. These holders can be, for instance, in wafer form with diameters up to 1 metre and larger made from high density polyethylene, or a spool-piece with flanges in stainless steel. It is also available in materials suitable for resistance to very high temperatures and pressures and highly corrosive applications. All sensors connect via a set of cables to a remote control unit with a multi-colour touch screen where parameters are displayed in real-time. The Rhosonics analyser is also available for direct analysis of concentrations in liquids.
