Turck has introduced a new signal processor family to enhance its range of products for flow. The FM (flow module) family focuses on easy usability, high functionality and a variety of connections to cover all modern requirements. The modules are DIN rail mount and configurable at the push of a button or via IO-Link and HART. Indicator-LEDs, as well as a 10-segment-LED-bargraph, show the measured value and status on-site. Additionally the modules measure temperature and monitor possible failures.
The FM-family consists of six types. Three of them are applicable for non Ex-areas and three for Ex-areas. Units are available with three switching outputs, three relay outputs, and one analogue plus two switching outputs. The FMX Ex-type is additionally equipped with a HART-interface while the other five types have IO-Link.
All flow sensors of the series FCS (insertion sensors) and FCI (inline sensors) from Turck can be operated with the new flow modules. The sensors work on the calorimetric principle and are suitable for the monitoring of liquid and gaseous substances, for example as protection against run-dry of pumps or cooling circuits.
