The SP300 range of positioners incorporates Hall effect sensing enabling remote mounting from the valve to protect against excessive vibration or temperature. Digital communication capability has been incorporated to support HART, Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus enabling it to be used in a wide variety of process automation environments. The device is compatible with all pneumatic actuator types, including piston actuators. IP 67 rated and intrinsically safe, the unit is suitable for operation in hazardous environments. An optional stainless steel enclosure enables operation in extremely harsh environments and protects against corrosion.
Configuration can be performed remotely via the communications network and an auto-stroke routine reduces commissioning time. The auto-stroke feature can also be used to quickly recalibrate the valve, reducing downtime and ensuring continued valve positioning accuracy.
