The Optisonic 6300 ultrasonic flowmeter from Krohne has proved itself in a range of applications since its introduction. A Swiss chemical company uses the Optisonic 6300 to measure the volumetric flow of demineralised water for steam production. As inline measurement was ruled out by the chemical company because it could not accept interruption of the process for the installation of measuring devices, Krohne recommended a clamp-on instrument. This device is easy to install on the pipeline, in this case 2,6 mm thick stainless steel pipe. The instrument measures volumetric flow, which can be up to 70 m³/h.
The flowmeter can be installed very quickly without training or special tools. The quality of the signal is displayed in realtime when adjusting the signal converter. This makes it easy for every user to correctly set-up the flowmeter.

Clamp-on flowmeters from Krohne are used primarily for applications where the process may not be interrupted for production reasons, pressure loss should be avoided and maintenance requirements must be kept to a minimum.
