Krohne has received SABS approval on its three beam custody transfer ultrasonic flowmeter, the Altosonic III. The Altosonic III, like most of the other Krohne ultrasonic flowmeters, is intended for use on hydrocarbons, where other technologies either do not work or are maintenance intensive. This flowmeter is intended for use in applications where high accuracy and repeatability are required and is positioned to replace mechanical flowmeters. The biggest advantage of this device is that there are no moving parts, hence no wear and tear and as a result, there are no additional maintenance costs after initial purchase.
