As part of Vega's ongoing research and development, a new parabolic bulk solids antenna for 2-wire loop powered process radar technology has been launched. Able to measure up to 70 m and of robust construction, the Vegapuls 68 is suitable for non-contact radar measurement in dusty, noisy environments.
These include storage facilities for the building industry; the food processing industry; steel production, as well as in the level measurement of powder and granules in the chemical industry. The adjustable flanges optimise the useful echo and increase receiver sensibility to a factor of 40. In spite of the higher signal damping experienced in solids, the VEGAPULS 68 delivers reliable measuring values, accurate to within 10 mm.
