Pressure transducer for F&B and biotechnology

March 2004 Sensors & Transducers

Afriso-Euro-Index's DMU 04 pressure transducer was designed in view of hygienic optimisation and complies with the EHEDG and FDA guidelines. The process connection and the front diaphragm are made of stainless steels 1.4571 or 1.4435 and welded together. Optionally, the parts coming into contact with the medium can be cleaned according to CIP/SIP criteria. DMU 04 converts the pressures of gases, liquids or high-viscosity media in the range from 0/100 mbar to 0/400 bar into proportional electrical signals which are available as current or voltage outputs and which may be used by master systems.

The pressure transducer is available with all relevant food process connections such as clamp (ISO 2852) or cone (DIN 11851). The DMU 04 can also be used as a high-temperature version up to 300°C - with a temperature decoupler. The field housing version enables the application of the system in rough environments. If specific information is required directly on site, the field housing can be equipped with a display device, such as the Afriso-Euro-Index DA 06 digital plug-on display.

Absolute cleanliness and hygiene are the top priority in dairy, brewing, food processing and biotechnology applications. Local and national regulations and directives become more and more stringent, and technology has to keep pace with such legislation. DMU 04 is a suitable solution where hygiene is a key issue - dairy plants, breweries and in the food industry, and also in chemical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications.
