Level Measurement & Control

Endress+Hauser’s new flush-mounted point level switch

April 2013 Level Measurement & Control

For highly viscous applications, reliable point level measurement is crucial and requires robust instrumentation that guarantees reliable measurement even in the case of build-up.

To meet the stringent requirements for safety and reliability in the food and beverage industry, reliable and robust hygienic instrumentation is required to increase up-time and production repeatability while minimising production losses.

Challenging process media like yogurt, honey and ketchup can often create inaccurate point level readings throughout a process due to build-up on the sensor. Designed to meet food and sanitary requirements even in highly viscous and lumpy media, Endress+Hauser has developed the Liquipoint FTW33 point level switch, designed to:

* Prevent damage caused by empty or dry pipes.

* Prevent overfill through reliable high level detection.

* Certified hygienic design can be cleaned and sterilised in place (CIP/SIP).

* Flush-mount design protects product quality – no intruding parts disturb the process or damage the product.

* Ensure reliable switching through build-up compensation.

* Automatically adapt to changing process media.

For standard applications where highly viscous and lumpy media is not an issue, Endress+Hauser’s standard Liquiphant family of sensors can measure density for all liquid media in food and beverage applications. With the easy to use applicator, the right product, size and configuration can be tailored to meet individual measurement and application requirements. The applicator is a precise, reliable and simple tool offering different entry points to match starting position and direction.
