SAIMC: Durban branch

March 2016 SAIMC

The Durban branch of the SAIMC holds their technology meetings on the 1st Wednesday of each month which means that the dates are as follows:

• 6 April

• 4 May

• 1 June

• 6 July

• 22 July: Golf day, Kloof Country Club

• 3 August

• 7 September

• 5 October

• 2 November

• 7 December (Durban Branch Patron product exhibition)

The Durban branch recently conducted online voting to establish the new committee, which was announced at the AGM on 3 February. As always, the process proved very successful, but further improvements to the system will be put to our members at the April Technology Evening.

As in previous years, and with the aim of having a good succession plan for new people, fresh ideas and inspiration on the committee, seven mentees were also chosen. The mentees have been co-opted to assist the main committee members and they will attend all committee meetings, be part of sub-committees and learn the process of becoming an active full committee member.

The 2016 committee is as follows: Hennie Prinsloo (chairman), John Owen-Ellis (secretary), Kevin McElroy (treasurer), Carl Reinecke, Dean Trattles, Howard Lister, Jane van der Spuy, Busani Sibindi (mentee), Lindelani Mzimela (mentee), Luckmore Phenduka (mentee), Mark Calvert (mentee), Paul Sikhakhane (mentee), Ralph Naidoo (mentee) and Philani Mpantsha (mentee).
