SAIMC: Durban branch

March 2014 SAIMC

The Durban branch held its AGM on 5 February at the Durban Country Club. It was a well-attended function, made all the more enjoyable by the presence of SAIMC president, Vinesh Maharaj, who outlined the new vision and plans for the future after a very successful 2013. The other formalities included the treasurer’s and chairman’s report and with everybody buoyed and excited all that remained was to announce the new committee for 2014 (online voting already having taken place).

With much of the same committee as last year being voted on again, the Durban branch has taken the initiative of appointing six mentees who will work alongside the committee members: both to lend much needed assistance in critical areas and of course to learn the ropes and gain visibility in the Durban branch, thus enhancing their stature both here and in the workplace.
