SAIMC: Secunda branch

January 2014 SAIMC

Ending 2013 on a high note, the Secunda branch concluded with a wonderful year-end function at the Swiss Ranch in Trichardt. Taking the event to new heights, the planners decided to change the décor and be in line with the recent logo update of the SAIMC. This made the event so much more meaningful, as everyone was again reminded of the changes the SAIMC is undergoing in order to provide better opportunity for its members.

Adding to the excitement SAIMC vice president, Oratile Sematle, was in attendance and he shared the way forward for the SAIMC and the future plans with ECSA. The evening started off with a moment of silence for Francois Eybers, an SAIMC member who made a tremendous contribution to the control fraternity and who passed away recently. Francois will be remembered for his technical ability and the difference he made in the lives of people around him. We would like to send our condolences to his family, colleagues and loved ones. During the proceedings, acting chairman Johan Maritz thanked past chairman Kobus Reinecke for the contribution he has made over the years.

Thank you to the team who arranged the event and to everyone who attended. Thank you to all the members for contributing to the growth and knowledge base of the branch, we are looking forward to many more Technology Evenings in 2014.

For additional photos on the event please visit the SAIMC website. The next monthly Technology Evening will be held at the Sasol recreational club in Secunda. For any queries or to be added onto the distribution list please contact Johan Maritz at [email protected]
