Monitoring operational performance

October 2023 IT in Manufacturing

Emerson has expanded the capabilities of its AgileOps Operations Management software in its newest release. AgileOps version 5 delivers improved functionality across its reporting features, interface and enterprise connectivity to help users deliver value more quickly and easily across their operations.

Gaining the most efficiency from operations requires a control system that is optimally configured for the process state. With more tools and a more intuitive out-of-the-box interface, AgileOps now helps users more easily monitor operational performance. Version 5 of the software replaces many lengthy textual indicators with imagery that promotes rapid recognition of functions, helping users quickly determine which actions need to be taken, regardless of their primary language or experience level. In addition, fault recognition is escalated to the application level and highlighted with both colour and symbol changes to ensure issues are identified more quickly.

The AgileOps performance analytics system has also been improved to provide more out-of-the-box functionality. Teams now also have access to many additional pre-configured reports, including shift-based annunciated alarms, database change logs, operator interactions, and standing alarm counts. Moreover, the reporting function has been enhanced with new features to help teams isolate the information they need more quickly. This includes a more flexible time range, enhanced content with more drilldown and filter capabilities, and a new metric of alarms per user in each area.

AgileOps version 5 also adds new architecture capabilities to enhance enterprise rollouts. The new functionality includes OPC and UA client connections for generic connection, and also seamless OPC UA connectivity to Emerson’s DeltaV distributed control and safety systems.
