Secunda Branch
October 2004
SAIMC
Things could not go better with the Secunda Branch. Since the last report we had another five technology evenings with presentations on conductivity measurement, different types for different applications, and how to make the selection, and In-tools, a powerful software tool to maintain an accurate plant information system and design assistant. Cables: How to select the right cable for the job as well as radio communication over short and medium distances. The last one was held at Kriel Golf club where variable speed drives were compared to control with valves. For all of these events we filled our lecture room. These meetings are now receiving the same interest as our now-so-famous golf day.
As before, we held our sponsors' braai and again this year it turned out to be a huge success. More than double the sponsors were there compared to the previous years. All our energy will now be focused on our year-end function on 19 November. Invitations will be out at the time when this is published. Anybody interested to join in this great event can contact our office at 017 638 0707 to book a seat.
On-site visits and seminars things are also falling in place nicely and a few good ones are planned for the rest of the year.
The Secunda Branch's fourth newsletter is out. Dennis had outdone himself this time. Like good wine, it gets better with time. If you want to know where we fit in with ECSA get yourself a copy and read all about it. If you require a copy, drop an e-mail to [email protected] and he will make sure that you receive it every time there is a new copy out.
