Compact, lightweight and self-contained, the Defender vibration sensor from Monitran allows end-users to easily identify changes in motor bearing or impellor wear over time and therefore predict how and when pumps require repair or maintenance. Available from Temperature Controls, the sensor makes it possible to extend the operating lives of pumps through timeous intervention.
The Defender is designed for installation on any plane, making it easy to attach the sensor to the equipment being monitored, while providing a clear view of the LCD. This accurate instrument displays a velocity in the range 0 to 99 mm/s RMS, with a measurement bandwidth of 6 Hz to 1 kHz. Each unit is sealed to IP65 and can operate at temperatures ranging from -20 to +85°C.
With no external power source required and an integral LCD, the unit is suitable for use in remote locations such as pumping stations and water treatment works.
