Ultrasonic sensors can be used to measure different objects practically independently of their colour and surface nature. In the past, if the measuring area was within a very confined space or stationary objects were present at the sides or front of the sensor, installation was more critical.
Baumer Electric's new ultrasonic sensor family, UDDK 30, with teach-in fading out of disturbing objects, makes installation and operation easy. The measuring area is lobar, the opening angle of the sound lobe is approximately 8°. Stationary objects in the measuring area between the sensor and the target can be taught in and therefore suppressed. This enables the user to detect an object, for example, through a grid or a narrow opening.
