Port Elizabeth focus on control
October 2002
News
This year the Port Elizabeth weather was good to the 'Vaalies', and apart from a few well-timed windy moments when Phoenix Contact needed to assemble its outside awning, the day was very pleasant. On 22 August, with what has become seen as normal in PE, the visitors to the Penmac Roadshow started arriving soon after opening at 12h00, and continued in a steady stream until closure at 18h00.
Once again the supplier component of the show was very well represented, and this year hosted a good example of 'technology partner companies' with a large combined display from Streamworks, Schneider and Adroit Technologies. Companies exhibiting at the show came from Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and even an exhibitor from Austin, Texas. In an effort to capture a well-timed opportunity, Adroit Technologies hosted a breakfast opening of their new local office in Port Elizabeth, and are now truly on the 'doorstep' of the users in Port Elizabeth.
This year the exhibiting companies were: Adroit, Anglo Allied, ATI Systems, Bürkert, CT Dynamics, Flexible Electronic Systems, Flowserve, FTT Pumps, Futuristix, GC Baars, IAC, Instrotech, Mega Measurement, National Instruments, RS Components, Schneider, Shorrock, Spescom, Streamworks, Temperature Controls, Throughput Technologies, TIM Controls, TM Automation, Unitemp, Wika, Yokogawa.
Three more shows to go for the year 2002, and these include: Vaal Triangle, 25 September; Mossel Bay, 17 October; and Northern Cape, 28 November. Keep up to date via the website where it is possible to book on-line to visit or exhibit at these exhibitions.
