The new LTH conductivity sensor is electrodeless and provides superb chemical resistance and high temperature performance in food grade material.
Known as the ECS40 series of conductivity sensors, the electrodeless method of measuring conductivity has many advantages over conventional approaches. This means that the sensors will operate with virtually zero maintenance and provide reliable measurements over extended periods of time. The sensor can operate reliably at 100°C continuously and can withstand thermal shocks commonly associated with CIP applications. The sensors can also be steam sterilised to 135°C.
The ECS40 series can be mounted in-line, in a tank wall, large bore pipe or in an open tank using a variety of fittings. It is possible to fit DIN, RJT, IDF or tri-clamp hygienic flanges to the sensor to cater for the majority of existing and new installations. The sensors are also available in a shortened version for fitting to Tuchenhagen flanges.
Each sensor is fitted with a P1000 temperature sensor to provide temperature measurement and compensation as required. A fast temperature response of t90 < 10 s is achieved by mounting the temperature element in direct contact with the medium via a stainless steel pocket.
The sensors will operate with any of the LTH electrodeless conductivity instruments to provide control outputs, 4 to 20 mA outputs, display of concentration, PPM or conductivity. Fully supported by Temperature Controls, the ECS40 series sensors ensure reliable, low maintenance operation and accurate sensing in the dairy, food and brewing industries.
