A measuring transducer for heavy-current electrical quantities, the Camille Bauer DME 408, is said to be the first to make use of Web browser technologies for the transmission and display of measured values via Ethernet.
The device makes it possible to acquire and transmit measured values from an electrical system, from the power generating or distribution application. Current, voltage, active and reactive power and energy values can be accessed via Ethernet, using a PC with a browser. In practice this means that the instrument has an Internet address and responds like a website when queried: All of the measured values, current instantaneous values and stored values (eg. energy meter values) available from the instrument can be queried and viewed at the website.
Alarm criteria can also be programmed: If a given criterion is fulfilled, the device automatically sends an e-mail containing the pertinent information. Password protection is provided to prevent access by unauthorised persons. Passwords are ordered hierarchically so that access to confidential data is only granted to selected users, eg energy meter values. An even higher level of authority is required for reprogramming the instrument.
This is a new product in the Swiss manufactured Camille Bauer range, distributed locally by Timecount.

Photoelectric eyes have always needed perfect working conditions, but in the workplace there is no such thing. Steam, water, light and dirt interfere with most photoelectric eyes, but never with a Telco sensor.
