Programmable 2-wire transmitter for dissolved oxygen

July 2002 Data Acquisition & Telemetry

Now available within ASSTech's comprehensive range of process electronics and instrumentation is the new Jumo dTrans 0201 programmable 2-wire transmitter for dissolved oxygen. There are three versions available.

The basic unit measures, in addition to the oxygen content, temperature at the measuring point as a PT100 resistance signal and all parameters are set via the PC set-up program. Calibration procedures are initiated from a key in the terminal box.

With the standard version, the measuring point is available as a 2-wire transmitter signal. Transmitter parameters can be set from the keypad, with text-guided operation on the graphics display - or via the set-up program. With both the basic and standard versions, all operation and control tasks are carried out in a central control room, which significantly reduces the risk of incorrect settings.

The top model has an integral power supply for use as a standalone device, an analog 4-20 mA signal output for temperature measurement, and two integral relay contacts which can be used to signal limit values and/or alarm conditions. Background lighting for the display can be turned on for optimum readability and ease of operation.

The 2-wire transmitter has electrical isolation between input and output, adjustable compensation for atmospheric pressure and can be programmed for salinity (salt content).

If required the sensor module is completely replaced, ie no working with electrolytes and no complicated installation of film membranes. A dirt-repellent protection membrane is integral to the design. As there is no zero current, single-point calibration is possible. All parameter and calibration settings can be stored or documented. On-line checking of the current values of the transmitter can be carried out via a 'magnifying-glass' function for on-screen display.
