Data Acquisition & Telemetry

How 1+2=1 in the networking industry

June 2002 Data Acquisition & Telemetry

The growing requirement for information in industrial and municipal markets for forward planning and management functions has created a demand which goes beyond normal operational functions of telemetry and scada systems.

SSE Data Networks in the Cape is responsible for the marketing supply and installation of the SSE RTU series telemetry product in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and surrounds.

Gert Bezuidenhout founder member of SSE (Specialist System Engineering) one of South Africa's largest manufacturers and suppliers of telemetry systems has teamed up with Allen Peterson and Clive Maasch. Peterson, who has had vast experience in database, Internet and intranet applications, has combined these skills with his knowledge of telemetry and scada to provide sound solutions for applications requiring structured gathering, networking and presentation of distributed information from various sources within industrial and municipal environments.

Maasch and Peterson who have had many years experience in the design and marketing of telemetry systems in South Africa joined the SSE Team and opened the branch in Cape Town in April. SSE Data Networks is aptly named, as it brings the database skills of Peterson into the telemetry arena.

Maasch, responsible for marketing and sales says; "I am extremely excited about this newfound partnership as it brings together all the skills required to integrate telemetry hardware, scada software and database management together under one roof putting the company in a strong position to cater for the industry demands of the present and future."
