The show heralded a significant milestone for Measuretech as this was its first exhibition under the Tyco International banner following Tyco's acquisition of Measuretech in 1999. Tyco International is one of the world's largest producers of industrial valves and related products, including electronic and electrical connectors and fire and security systems.
The vast Tyco network has assisted in ensuring Measuretech were appointed exclusive representatives of three additional world leading organisations which include Hoffer Flow Controls, Besta AG & Scott/Bacharach gas detection products. The Tyco range of fieldbus-compatible valve and Keystone Control products were launched and an automated overview of the functionality and capabilities of the products was on display.
The SAAB loop powered radar level gauge was introduced for the first time in South Africa and an existing database of users, together with a reputation, both internationally and in South Africa, resulting in a good market response.
Hoffer Flow Controls turbine flowmeters, already established in South Africa and a leader in industrial and cryogenic turbine flowmeters, was launched under the Measuretech banner. The new built-in features on display made the demonstration models popular, with enquiries emanating from all fields of industry.
