Flowserve sets the record straight
February 2002
News
Flowserve SA allege that GTH, the previous distributor of Durco valves, published inaccurate and misleading information in its October 2001 newsletter. For the benefit of its clients, Flowserve has elected to publish this corrected information in a reputable industry journal. Flowserve's corrections are as follows:
* Microfinish Ball Valves is owned and run by the Yikamshi family and not BDK Process Equipment - India, as stated in the newsletter.
* BDK does not utilise the foundry that is the castings supplier for the Durco G4 plug valves. (GIL, Goa foundry caters exclusively to Flowserve on this product and does not supply any castings to BDK).
* BDK does not manufacture Durco pumps and Valtek control valves under licence. (BDK is the authorised distributor of the Microfinish ball valve range as well as the Durco pumps and Valtek control valves, for the domestic Indian market).
Flowserve assumes that GTH were misinformed and stresses that BDK and Durco are two completely different products, manufactured in separate foundries.
