Wenglor’s smallest transit time sensor

Wenglor has introduced its smallest transit time sensor, measuring just 32x16x12 mm. The new P1KY10x distance sensor with an IO-Link interface and ranges of up to 1 500 mm, offers a unique combination of compactness and high performance.
The sensor accurately determines distance between itself and an object on the principle of transit time measurement. Two mutually independent switching outputs and the intelligent IO-Link interface permit multifunctional use for precisely ascertaining the distance to an object, or for detecting the object at any switching points. This not only makes it possible to implement complex applications such as shelf-full messages and empty location checks in the field of intralogistics, but also applications such as slow-stop circuits in shuttle systems as well.
The large working range of 0 to 1500 mm assures top performance and flexibility which is important in the field of handling and assembly technology. With a current consumption of only 15 mA, the device is also one of the thriftiest sensors on the market.
The integrated laser light source is non-hazardous to the human eye due to laser class 1 operation. Rounding off the excellent features of this miniature new sensor are its robust insensitivity to extraneous light, the highly visible status LEDs and a total weight of just 4 grams.
