Two active MCR current measuring transducers for measuring alternating currents have now been added to the product line of Phoenix Contact. With an effective value measurement, the modules MCR-S-1/5-I-DCI-24 and -230 enable exact detection of sinusoidal 50 Hz alternating currents.
On the input side the typical converter currents of 1 A and 5 A are detected. The 3-way separation is designed accordingly as 'protective separation' between the signal input and output or the supply. On the output side either of the two analog standardised signals from 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA is available. In accordance with state-of-the-art technology, the housing is only 22,5 mm wide.
A basic distinguishing feature of the two versions is the auxilliary power supply. In addition to a 24 V d.c. supply, an alternative 85-230 V a.c./d.c. supply is also offered. The measuring transducers can be retrofitted on a 35 mm top hat rail and can be operated in any installation position. The class accuracy corresponds to the common industry standard of 0,5%.
