December 2001 Temperature Measurement

Designed specifically for the food service industry, the Raytek MT-FS noncontact thermometer from PREI Instrumentation is fast, accurate and reads food surface temperatures without contact. This means no cross-contamination or damage to food products.

The unit is accurate and repeatable to 1°C in the critical temperature zone of 0 to 65°C, where harmful bacteria grow most rapidly. The full range of the instrument is -30 to 200°C, so it can be useful along the whole food chain from cold storage, at the receiving dock, in the kitchen, and in holding or serving areas, monitoring refrigerators, fryers, ovens and rotisseries.

The MT-FS is light, easy-to-use, operates with a standard 9 V battery and has a laser light to demarcate the area that is being monitored.
