Honeywell Users Group (HUG) 2016 was opened in The Hague by the president of Honeywell Process Solutions, Vimal Kapur on 25 October 2016. Kapur outlined the six factors that Honeywell believes are driving manufacturing companies to find alternatives methods of doing business. These are the need to:

1. Reduce project capital expenditure (capex),
2. Reach higher production throughput,
3. Sustain plant performance,
4. Ensure a seamless supply chain,
5. Enhance safety performance, and
6. Address the skills scarcity and asset obsolescence.
The Honeywell Users Group (HUG) conference provides users of Honeywell process control and industrial automation systems with a forum to exchange technical information and provide feedback to Honeywell on their equipment and service needs.
