Industrial Data Xchange (IDX) recently hosted a breakfast session at Monte Casino to promote awareness for Profibus and Profinet solutions in the era of the Industrial Internet of Things.
Matthew Dulcey, global sales manager at Procentec, gave a presentation on the transition currently underway in automation from serial/bus structures to industrial Ethernet systems. He discussed what this transition means to current automation professionals and explored the timeline within which this will occur, what can be done with existing structures, and trends within the new market systems. One of the highlights of this presentation equipped the audience with the insight necessary to differentiate fact from fiction in this often over dramatised IIoT context of industrial automation. Procentec is a dynamic company that is actively pushing the boundaries of Profibus and Profinet diagnostic technology.
IDX’s Kyle Roos rounded off the event with a presentation of the Profibus and Profinet training courses available through the IDX academy. IDX is the South African distribution partner of Procentec.
