To control the feed to the burner, both the minimum and maximum levels have to be controlled and that is done by using the Telco (PA 11) amplifier in conjunction with a Telco Light Transmitter and Light Receiver 110 series.
The above Telco sensor system, used in through-beam mode, is mounted directly in the hopper (container or feeder) in direct contact with the product; one system for minimum and one for maximum level.
How it works
When the minimum level is reached, the hopper needs to be filled; the feeder motor will be started and the wood chips or pellets will be sent along a conveyor from the tanker where they are stored. The feeder will stop when the maximum level is reached. In some cases, a sensor is placed just behind the endless screw in front of the burner entrance to be sure that the feeder is working properly. Sometimes the wood becomes stuck in the tube to the endless screw and this must to be detected quickly to prevent a blockage.
