When working with plastic, producers often encounter unwanted complications caused by the build-up of static electricity. SMC Pneumatics offers solutions to these everyday manufacturing problems by means of three different types of ionisers.
The bar type is equipped with nozzles which generate charged air which is then blown onto the application. This works well in a PET environment, for example. It would also be suitable for lamination and web printing. The bar type varies in length and performance options. The nozzles can be equipped with condition monitoring and therefore easy maintenance and replacement of the nozzles are not a problem.
The ioniser can also be ordered in a variant equipped with a sensor which is able to determine if a positive or negative charge is required, and then it will generate accordingly. Charge is related to voltage and this is communicated back to the ioniser which then generates the required balancing ions.
The ioniser is also available as a fan type that generates a charge and then blows it over the affected area. This works especially well in process areas where polystyrene is involved.
