Moxa launches rugged outdoor IP camera

December 2015 Sensors & Transducers

Moxa has launched its new VPort 66-2MP series of rugged IP cameras. The cameras feature 1080p Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) at 60 FPS and an H.264 PTZ dome designed for mission-critical video surveillance applications. The pan, tilt, zoom functionality provides users with an impressive wide area coverage and images that show the finest details. With an operating temperature of -40 to 65°C, the VPort 66-2MP is tailored to increase system reliability in extreme conditions and decrease maintenance costs for system operators.

Extreme reliability for outdoor applications

Industrial environments face critical environmental challenges 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Equipment in such environments could be subjected to blistering hot or freezing cold temperatures, as well as dust, rain, and vibrations, especially when used for mission-critical video surveillance applications in ITS, railway, and oil and gas. Moxa’s VPort 66-2MP is vandal-proof, IP66-rated, has a NEMA Type 4 form factor, and is EN 50121-4 compliant for harsh, outdoor environments. The camera can operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -40 to 65°C, and Moxa’s industrial grade vent-free design keeps dust and rain out, helping prolong the camera’s lifespan.

Precise, zero blind spot full HD image quality

The VPort 66-2MP delivers 1080p Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) at 60 FPS, 360° endless pan, and -6 to 96° tilt for zero-blind-spot coverage. The preset positioning function allows constant monitoring of the most critical areas. The camera supports up to 3 video streams, and can handle complex scenes easily since the camera preserves rich color contrasts and produces crisp, clear images.

The VPort 66-2MP supports ready to use NVR and VMS software for video surveillance systems, and provides a variety of software development kits for use with third-party VMS and scada software. Moreover, the VPort 66-2MP supports industry standard ONVIF specifications for simpler and faster integration, and supports NTCIP protocol for ITS.
