The intelligent PerformanceLine encoders from ifm are extremely versatile due to their programmable resolution, selectable output signal and IO-Link compatibility. The encoders use magnetic technology, providing the accuracy of traditional optical glass encoders with the robustness of magnetic encoders.
The PerformanceLine encoder provides a dual colour (red/green) digital display for at-a-glance monitoring and allows for easy programming via pushbuttons. With ifm’s encoders, there is no need to stock multiple units.
As the PerformanceLine encoders are programmable, the user can program the resolution needed for each application from 1 to 9999, based on his application’s needs. They are also versatile, offering a choice of HTL or TTL output. Units also feature multifunctional capabilities. The encoders can be configured to perform in three different capacities; as an encoder, a counter and a speed/direction monitor.
Ready for the future, the encoders are equipped with an IO-Link interface for Digital Factory 4.0 operations. The IO-Link interface enables direct access to process and diagnostic data, allowing the user to parametise during operations, reducing downtime.
Devices are available in hollow and solid shaft designs of varying diameters and are offered with an M12 connector or 2 m cable. Different flange options can be provided.
