Atlas Industrial Systems, the holding company of Karma Sensors, was recently awarded the contract for the installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment, cable racking and cabling for Tongaat Hulett at its plant in Germiston. The Alidex project contract was awarded through AR Process Projects and is significant as it is Atlas Industrial Systems first major project into the food and beverage sector, as traditionally the company focused predominantly on the iron and steel and related markets.
The contract is based on strict time frames and work must be carried out whilst production continues, thereby posing challenges for the work force and engineers on site. It is envisaged that over time more upgrades are in the pipeline with other plants within the group coming on board.
Atlas Industrial Systems together with Karma Sensors has made significant inroads into project related work in the Gauteng region over the last few years. The expertise and technical knowledge of managing and controlling small to large scale projects has been within the Group for years, with over 100 of these completed to date.
Additionally, Karma Sensors sells a wide range of process control and automation products. It also offers SI solutions, including hardware and software installations for all Siemens PLC related applications. Turnkey project related work completes the offering of solutions to the industry.
