SKF gathers experts in the wind power industry to discuss operation and maintenance optimisation

November 2015 News

Experts from the wind power industry recently gathered for the annual SKF Wind Farm Management Conference. Held in Amsterdam, the conference enabled experts from around the world to share the latest knowledge and advice in wind farm management, operation and maintenance.

The industry driven conference saw 190 participants from the wind energy operations and maintenance community out of 23 countries, with presentations and panel debates held over a two day period. Ranging from maintenance strategies and sourcing spare parts, to asset life optimisation and the end of warranty process, the presentations delivered important information for achieving wind farm operation and maintenance best practice.

“With investment in wind turbine maintenance estimated to double by the end of the decade, it is in the best interest of wind farm operators to make the process as efficient and effective as possible. The SKF Wind Farm Management Conference is the ideal forum for experts to discuss innovations, new ideas and wind farm management best practice in the wind power industry,” said Jean-Luc Gardelle, head of energy segments at SKF. Many participants consider the conference a unique place to create network and exchange knowledge. I strongly believe that only by working together, we can take operation and maintenance to the next level.”

SKF provides a wide range of solutions to the wind energy industry through solutions designed to optimise performance and reliability in applications such as gearboxes, generators and shafts, in both new and existing wind turbines.
