ETG reaches another milestone in Asia: 1000 members say yes to EtherCAT

November 2014 News

Two successful EtherCAT Plug Fests, along with two Safety over EtherCAT seminars in Japan and Korea, highlighted the widespread implementation of EtherCAT and support of the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) on the Asian continent. A recent milestone confirms this growing movement within the ETG in Asia, the organisation now boasts 1000 member companies.

Almost 80 participants attended this year’s EtherCAT Plug Fests, the developer meetings conducted by the EtherCAT Technology Group, in Japan and Korea. ETG events in Japan have seen overwhelming growth, with significant increases in member attendance over the past four years. Conducted for the first time in 2010, the EtherCAT Plug Fest in Japan has reached the same attendance level as its European counterparts.

The Safety over EtherCAT seminars, conducted in the region for the first time were also very successful. More than 65 participants received information about safe data transmission via Safety over EtherCAT, as well as a detailed update on the latest developments of the technology. The attending device manufacturers found the simple implementation and the corresponding support services to be particularly impressive.
