In today's increasingly competitive market, with all manufacturers under constant pressure to increase production throughput and improve quality while at the same time reducing costs, the requirement for effective monitoring systems to ensure optimal process performance is more important than ever before.
As a result, there has been a significant increase in the sale of products such as Monitran's eddy current probe (noncontacting displacement measurement) sensors, for the monitoring of rotating components such as shafts, bearings and rollers on high-speed production lines.
Available for OEM and retrofit applications, Monitran's eddy current probes provide the necessary measurements for the accurate detection and early warning of performance degradation.
In addition to providing indications of misalignment, the sensors have the accuracy and sensitivity to detect cracks, seams and other surface flaws, which can occur over the operating life of a system. Providing early detection of these problems ensures they can be rectified before they become a performance issue. Monitran's eddy current probes are available in four models, with measurement ranges from 0 to 2 mm and 0 to 20 mm, in operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +180°C.
Most recently, Monitran has introduced an accurate 4-20 mA sensor to provide feedback directly to PLC, scada or bespoke proprietary control systems.
