Flow Measurement & Control

Five million cycles

October 2001 Flow Measurement & Control

In British Columbia, Canada, Tyco's Keystone K-LOK valves and Morin actuators have accumulated over 5 000 000 cycles without failure.

The wastewater treatment plant operators of the District of Powell River, British Columbia, have come to rely on this combination of Tyco products to get the job done. Installed in November 1999, they have performed beyond expectation with over five million cycles each. Each valve's cycles (opens and closes) every eight seconds, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. This nonstop operation has performed consistently and without failure since start-up.

In general, actuators are used to regulate flow volume and rate through valves and piping systems. At the Powell River facility, Morin actuators provide the controls. The K-LOK's dual offset-disk helps ensure that fluids move through the stream easily, reducing friction and abrasion - thus prolonging the life and integrity of the valve.

Morin actuators can take the punishment nearly any application can hand out, consistently performing under the harshest industry and environmental conditions.
