The video-based D-VTA 200 EX thermograph from Durag is a modular system for monitoring high temperature industrial processes in hazardous areas. Intelligent sensors allow contactless, optical and thermal online analysis of processes as they occur in the combustion chamber.
Designed for use in the petrochemical and refineries industries, D-VTA 200 EX monitors thermal crackers, heaters and steam reformers, providing visualisation of flames, detection of hot spots and local overheating. When used in the steel industry, D-VTA 200 EX is designed for blast furnace control and combustion visualisation.
The system’s sensors have been specially developed for the harsh working conditions in hazardous areas (ATEX Zone 1). The sensor housing contains an industrial CCD camera and the slim, water cooled sensor shaft minimises mechanical stress and thermal influence on the sensor parts in the combustion chamber.
Sapphire glass at the sensor tip protects the optical system against mechanical and thermal damage. As there are no moving parts, such as mirrors, prisms or motors located in the process-oriented area, the sensor achieves high availability with minimum service requirement. The sensing temperature range from total radiation is 1000 to 2000°C.
