IFM Electronic is offering the OJ range of opto-electronic sensors for use in the food industry and factory automation. The sensors meet IP 68 requirements providing maximum sealing even in applications that are subjected to frequent cleaning processes. The range includes through-beam, retroreflective and diffuse reflection sensors with 10 m, 2 m and 1 to 600 mm sensing ranges respectively.
The OJ sensors have a high chemical resistance and all sensors operate with a visible red light, which makes alignment during commissioning easier. Mounting is performed by simply snapping he sensor onto a high-grade stainless steel clip.
Three connection options are offered which include a 2 m PVC cable, 150 mm PVC cable or PUR cable with a potted M12 or M8 connector. The M8 connector and sensor housing are injection moulded in one-piece resulting in a compact and robust plug connection.
A Teach-IN element enables problem-free setting of the sensing range, and the sensors are short circuit, reversed polarity and overload protected. Operating on 10-30 V d.c., the OJ sensors are available with a comprehensive range of accessories such as side lenses, protective brackets and swivel-mounted clips.
