To raise awareness and recognise top performing manufacturers that have realised the widespread benefits of a strong safety programme, Rockwell Automation announced its first Manufacturing Safety Excellence Awards to commemorate the world’s safest manufacturing companies.
The winners – General Motors, PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble – were selected because for them safety is more than a priority, it is a core value. Companies like these have made people and plant safety a core company value by incorporating the three key pillars of a comprehensive safety programme with a strong safety culture, a formalised compliance strategy and capital investments in technologies that integrate safety and standard control systems. Studies show that manufacturers that do the same realise greater gains in efficiency, productivity and profitability.
