Surge arrester for universal use

Dehn’s BLITZductor XTU is a surge arrester for instrumentation and automation systems that adapts itself to the nominal voltage of the installation. The combined lightning current and surge arrester can be used for all voltages from 0 to 180 VDC. Moreover, it continuously adapts its voltage protection level to the currently applied signal voltage and is thus ideally suited for AC applications as well.
The arresters feature a patented LifeCheck monitoring function which allows for easy testing of the arresters during operation provided that the protection module is plugged in. This monitoring function also detects arresters pre-damaged by overload thus ensuring safe operation and increased system protection.
The pluggable arresters consist of a BXTU protection module and a DIN rail mountable BXT base part featuring terminals for two twin wires and earth connection. An uninterrupted switch contact allows the protection modules to be removed and inserted during system operation.
