The new Raytek MI3 series is the third generation of MI sensors that combines innovation, performance and low installation cost per measurement point. The range represents a new level of performance and innovation in continuous noncontact temperature monitoring for a broad range of OEM applications and manufacturing processes.
All sensor operating parameters are externally accessible and configured through the standard user interface with large backlit LCD display, or via the powerful Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software through the USB digital interface that is supplied with the unit.
New and patented is the communication between the head and the communication box. This digital communication unlocks the following advantages:
* Plug-and play connection of the sensor head – sensors are automatically recognised by the communication box eliminating the need for manual setting of calibration codes.
* The sensors can be easily integrated into any control system via their internal digital bus. (Modbus RTU and Profibus);
* No cable bending/moving effects allowing continuous reliable measurement in moving installations (robotic arms, linear drives, chains etc).
The MI3 sensor not only provides self-diagnosis of the internal head temperature, but also indicates if a head wire is broken. This is helpful for compliance with ISO 9001 safety requirements.
