The Protechtor MP820/MP830 family of motor/pump protection relays is in line with Rhomberg’s policy to deliver new and innovative locally designed products to the marketplace. Manufactured in Cape Town and exported worldwide, these DIN rail mounted units protect AC induction motors. They automatically set up the overload and underload as well as the overvoltage and undervoltage trip points within specific limits when in calibration mode. Motors up to 4 kW can be connected directly to the unit. Larger motors are easily accommodated by using an interposing CT.

The units protect against running dry; jamming (overload); closed valve (cavitation/underload); overvoltage; and undervoltage. The liquid level control function protects against running dry or overfill of dams and reservoirs. They are based on microprocessor technology and have LED indication of all fault conditions, fail-safe design and 5A SPDT relay output.
