Festo’s electric toothed belt axis ELGA-TB-G is an ideal solution for applications where loads are guided externally. It is also suitable for applications with a simple plain-bearing guide with a rigid profile, such as where work-pieces only require a push/pull force. In these instances, using an axis with plain-bearing guide is more cost-effective than an electric axis with a recirculating ball bearing guide.
The positioning drives sizing software helps to reliably select the right axis, while the Festo Configuration Tool (FCT) ensures convenient and easy commissioning of the motor controller. The ELGA-TB-G with plain-bearing guide comes in three sizes and offers a maximum working stroke of 8500 mm. It thus enables design engineers to dispense with time-consuming in-house solution design and allows them to concentrate on their core activities. The process from system design to implementation is quick, leading to earlier production start-up and more cost savings.
Featuring a flexible motor attachment, the motor can be mounted on the left or right and front or back of the axis and this position can be changed at any time. The ELGA-TB-G is compatible with all common servo motors, making it a very versatile option. The axis delivers exceptional feed forces of up to 300 N, acceleration of up to 50 m/s² and it can achieve travel speeds of 5 m/s.
