BeanAir has introduced a new analogue input, ultra low-power, wireless data acquisition solution for remote monitoring and process supervision applications. The BeanDevice AN-420 integrates an embedded data-logger that can be used to log data when the wireless sensor network cannot be reached on a remote site.
The AN-420 uses IEEE 802.15.4 wireless protocol stack and features an integrated, software configurable, sensor power supply of 4,5 to 20 V. All the data acquisitions are stored on the embedded flash and then transmitted to the BeanGateway whenever a Wireless Sensor Network is established.
The unit is optimised by the combination of embedded software and low consumption electronic components, allowing the system to reach an appreciably low energy footprint and device-autonomy. The BeanDevice AN-420’s autonomy is enhanced by the ability to directly power the connected sensor (4,5-20 V). This power supply is completely servo-controlled by the embedded software, which allows high measurement accuracy in cases of radio-metric measurement applications. It is powered by an integrated lithium-ion battery and the charger has high precision battery monitoring features like over-voltage protection, over-current/short-circuit protection, under-voltage protection, battery temperature monitoring, and current accumulation measurement.
Several data acquisition modes are available:
* Low duty cycle data acquisition mode: the data acquisition is immediately transmitted by radio. The transmission frequency can be configured from 1s to 24h.
* Alarm mode: the measured value is transmitted by radio whenever an alarm threshold (fixed by the user) is detected (4 alarms threshold levels high/low).
* Survey mode: operates like the alarm mode but the device sends a beacon frame frequently informing its current status.
* Streaming packet mode: all measured values are transmitted by packet within a continuous flow at 400 samples per second maximum.
* Streaming mode: all measured values are transmitted in real-time within a continuous flow at 100 samples per second maximum.
* Math mode: values such as the mean value, maximum value, minimum value and standard deviation are calculated on sample time series and transmitted.
