Enclosed 150 W converter for railway applications

Mean Well has expanded its RSD-100 series (100 W) with a second generation of enclosed type single output DC/DC converter the 150 W RSD-150 series. This new series complies with the EN55015 railway standard and is designed to fulfil the rigorous requirements of vehicle applications. Featuring a wide input range and 4000 VDC input/output isolation, RSD-150 series is characterised by 5G anti-vibration ability, wide working temperature range (-40-70°C), protections for short circuit, overload, output over voltage and input reverse polarity, as well as built-in constant current limiting and low profile design.

High efficiency circuit design achieves efficiency up to 91% of high efficiency on a semi-encapsulated PCB to provide anti-moisture, anti-dust, heat dissipation and vibration resistance. They are cooled without forced-air between -40 and 70°C ambient temperature. Applications include railway, metro rapid transit system, subway, buses and leisure trailers. They are also suitable for other harsh industrial installations such as security system, UPS and telecommunications equipment.
