Raytek introduces pyrometers for use in primary and secondary metal processes.
The Raytek MI3 pyrometer series is designed to reduce the cost per measurement point in applications requiring multisensor measurement capability, allowing the direct wiring of up to 32 infrared sensors to a PLC.
The MI3 is a rugged, IP65 stainless steel miniature pyrometer with integrated electronics in a 28 x 14 mm diameter package suitable for fixed installation. All sensor operating parameters are externally accessible and configured through the standard user interface via the large backlit LCD display, or using the Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software and standard USB 2.0 digital interface.
New features in the device include digital communication between the sensor and communication box, high resolution silicon optics, a wide range of temperature sensing heads and a programmable electronics platform. For use with standard industrial outputs the MI3 sensor is equipped with a separate communication module, which provides all the functionality of the proven MI series sensors with numerous exciting new features. Up to eight individually addressable heads can be installed via the multichannel sensor interface box available as an accessory.
