Durag furnace camera helps Sasol

OEN Enterprises has announced that it has installed the first Durag furnace camera in South Africa on a rotary kiln at Sasol’s Carbo-Tar plant at the Secunda site. The camera is mounted behind the burner so that it continuously monitors the flame characteristics, flame temperature, product temperature and flow, as well as the refractory lining temperature.

The Durag camera ensures that Sasol continuously achieves product quality standards and minimises both maintenance costs (particularly on the refractory lining) and unscheduled outages. The camera provides the plant operators with information to help them to maintain continuous production since the installation.
